Finally Tech Is Not Ignored
Any Texas Tech fan that doesn't want Bobby Knight as Head Coach doesn't get it. It's about making money and getting exposure. Bob Knight will give Tech that.
Who watches Tech hoops. More fans come out to see the women. Not the men. The women have a national title, not the men.
Knight will put Tech on the map. So suck it Tech fans. Your kids will get degrees, you will win, you will see a little hell raised, but you will no longer be ignored.
Tony Banks Is Aikman's Replacement
Tony Banks is Tony Banks. He has flashes of greatness and he has flashes of "what the heck were you thinking".
But Dallas had no choice. Tampa Bay is going to keep Ryan Leaf. This was the best option.
Offensive coordinator, Jack Reilly, coached Banks in St. Louis. Reilly wanted Banks and I say that's a good move. He can run the system and that's all the Cowboys need at this point. They aren't going to the playoffs in 2001. Banks is a stop gap, unless he can prove himself to be a Pro Bowl player.
The Cowboys will have a better shot next year in the draft. There are some nice quarterbacks coming out.
Banks is 27 years old. He's played on a Super Bowl winner. He's got NFL starting experience. For $500,000 it's not a bad move.
