Q) With two big time players for the Kings with injuries, and a momentum change are you still sticking with Sacramento in 5? I also predicted Sac in 5, but things are looking good for the Mavs right now. With Webber and Jackson both getting hurt in game two, the back to back games Sat. and Sun. aren't looking so bad. Even if Webber and Jackson do play with these injuries they probably won't be 100%. Do to the circumstances, and if Dallas comes out with the same heart and will to win in games 3 and 4 I think it's very possible they could steal a game in Sacramento. I'm not saying the Mavs are going to win the series, but things are looking a lot better. I'm going to stick with the Kings over Mavs in 5, but I hope this team can prove me wrong and go for the throat in game three. What's your opinion?

 --nicholas.gilliam@rotech.com

A) I can't change now. The fans won't let me so I'll have to stay with Kings in five.

The injuries to 2 of the Kings top 6 players will hurt them Saturday and Sunday.

We are both thinking the same thing, the Mavericks might benefit from back to back games if Chris Webber's knee is bad or Bobby Jackson's eye swells so much he can't play.

Injuries surely will make this series different.

Q) In the end the Kings will win the series because they are just a better team. But whatever damage the Mavs do in this series will be due to Nick Van Exel making this team believe. Stop the talk about the big three, there is only a big two, Dirk and Nick. Nick would be a starting point guard on about 20+ other teams, and should be a starter on this one. Say what you want about Dirk, if the game is on the line and you really neeed a bucket, give the ball to Van Exel. Mike in Plano

 --austindb@comcast.net

A) We could see trade talk involving Mike Finley (we did two years ago) and Steve Nash (2 years left at 6M).

Van Exel is valuable right now.

Q) For those asking for the head of Don Nelson for bringing Shawn Bradley and Raef Lafrentz to Dallas. I have an answer; maybe we should consider hiring him back for bringing Nick Van Exel. There is a new heart and soul of and for, the Dallas Mavericks. Nick Van Exel is the unquestioned practical and vocal leader of this basketball team. Dallas was praying for a big man and their prayers were answered by a little man. Those who love to dislike him for his unconventional style may want to check their prejudices at the door.

 --Cedric.Robinson@intervoice.com

A) I think Nick Van Exel has earned himself a spot on this roster next year, or he will bring a very nice big man in a trade.

Don Nelson says he's been his best player in the playoffs.

Q) Dawg, Ok, so I am still a relative newbie to the Mavs, but this past season has provided me a fairly quick education. I am curious...has Nellie been in a coaching situation before where his team lacked the items that the Mavs do now? (Defensive aggression, rebounds, inside game) If so, what was his record like in those situations and how did those short comings, when they appeared in his previous teams, get resolved? By the way, that was one heck of a win last night! And you know what stinks? Despite that, I still find myself full of doubt for the overall series...after all any team at some point can pull off a single breakout win.

 --johnny.snell@eds.com

A) Don Nelson lacked a big center in Golden State. The Warriors played tough though.

Shawn Bradley and Raef LaFrentz have let him down. Nellie gave them big money and they didn't give him their best efforts. Bradley last year and Raef this year.

This offseason the Mavericks will make changes in their roster to get better on the inside. That's how they will solve the shortcomings on the inside Olivia.

Q) New Dawg... I just wanted to express how proud of that performance the Mavs showed last night. If we play like that every night, no one can beat us. I like the move to Griffin and Bell instead of Lafrentz and Bradley. We actually played defense and out rebounded the Kings (oops, I mean the Queens)! GO MAVS!!!

 --wilsontke@hotmail.com

A) Dallas, be loud be proud. That was a great performance by the Mavericks in Game 2 against the Kings. 132-110.

Don Nelson did a great job of playing his best players. It didn't matter if it was small ball, it was guys who wanted to play.

Q) Great show guys, one of the highlights of my afternoon, keep it coming! What's your take on the whole Boston-NJ sideshow, Bob Ryan, Jason Kidd, Byron Scott & the Celtic home crowd?

 --robert.garza@medisend.org

A) Bob Ryan made this a sideshow. Not the Kidds. And Byron Scott is standing up for his best player who is about to become a free agent.

Q) Newy, You & Coop will have to re-write Friday's Big Show script. Our Mavs not only beat Sac but they hammered them, how, why? Can you guys tell me if Nellie is being told by the brass to invite Silas to this series. Also why did Cuban promote Donnie to VP last offseason? One last comment, if they Mavs play like they did tonight look out LA Lakers in the western finals, if not thanx to them for soaking our appetites...

 --robert.garza@medisend.org

A) We are getting it today.

Nellie and Paul were teammates in Boston. Nellie asked him to come and help. This was his deal.

Mark Cuban made Donnie President of Basketball Operations to keep him from taking the Denver job and the kid earned a bigger role for all he has done for the Mavericks.

And I don't see the Lakers beating the Spurs.

Q) Whats up Dawg, I think Paul Silas would be the best option for Dallas if Nellif was to move on, but I don't think Nellie's position at head coach should be over just yet. This man along with Mark Cuban have completely turned this franchise around. The Mavs went from being the joke of the NBA to a top contender in just a few years. The Mavericks have continued to improve, and break previous franchise records under Nelson year after year since he has been here. I think this franchise is a good off season away from being able to either knock the Kings out of the playoffs next year, or at least take them to game seven. This team does not need a new coach, it simply needs a couple of solid free agents added to the roster that can throw some bows and go to war on the boards. I think Don Nelson deserves a contract extension. If this team does add the guys they need, for example a PJ Brown, an Alonzo Mourning, or a Dale Davis, etc., and Nellie doesn't at least get this team to a game seven in the second round, he should then get the boot. The bottom line is Nellie has continued to improve this team year by year and that is his job, and I think he's done great. Nellie cannot help it if he does not have the players to help him get over this bump in the road right this second. It doesn't matter who was coaching this team last year or this year, they cannot get past the Kings with this group of guys, and that is a fact. Love the show, Garrett

A) Garrett, I couldn't have written it any better my man!!
