Newy,I think the Cowboys would be stupid to sign Brian Griese now. We don't know how good Chad Hutchinson will be until we see him play with some protection. Even Parcells said Chad was getting the hell beat out of him last year. No point in wasting money on Griese now.....Also, if Don Nelson wants to get athletic he should sign someone like Corey Maggette. We don't really have a starting SF unless you consider Dirk that. What do you think are the chances of that happening?

Look Griese is a veteran. He's damaged goods but Parcells can work with that. He did with Vinny Testaverde.
Brian Griese has been to the Pro Bowl. And oh by the way, Mike Shananhan is supposed to be an offensive guru, but Griese just went downhill. Where was the running game? Nobody talks about the receivers that got hurt. The Denver defense was trash. You didn't see them in the playoffs either. Was it all the quarterbacks fault?
I'll take him over the unproved kids. Hutchinson still needs to watch and learn. That's my take on him.
Corey Maggette is a backburner issue. The Mavsn need to get the frontcourt help first.

New-Dawg what do you think about the Mavs getting Austin Croshere from Indiana he will bang and rebound, although I'm not sure of his contract but I don't think he's maxed.
And we all know Dallas Mavs is the home of the maxed contract. I'm so sick of Shawn Bradlely the tallest man in the league and he leads the league in getting up off of the floor ( feel free to use that).

Austin Croshere is making big bucks with the Pacers. The Mavericks don't need him. The Pacers have had him on the market for some time. I do like his game.
Now tell me we can trade Tariq Abdul-Wahad for him but the numbers don't work. But there are two players who could use a fresh start and don't really fit their teams anymore.
Shawn Bradley is going to be with the Mavericks. The owner wants him here. Period.

I don't see how Griese doesn't land in Miami, UNLESS, a team like the Cowboys are willing to pay him big bucks. I have a source telling me the Cowboys really want him.
Griese would be a perfect fit there. He knows the town. Jay Fiedler may not hold up, ala Kordell Stewart in Pittsburgh last year.
All the pieces are there for Griese to get the job done. A fantastic defense. A great running back, and a super tight end in Randy McMichael.
I will be at the Turkey Day Game with my family loving the game.

Dawg,
I can't even begin to tell you how frustrated and angry I am that all of the
Mavs games for the Western Conference Finals are on TNT (cable). No, I don't
have cable, so I am missing them big-time to WATCH the game as it happens. I
listen to the games on the radio but I want to SEE them. I emailed Mark Cuban
about this when the showdown with the Spurs began and he emailed me back
saying that it was a league decision, one that he voted against. I still can't
believe what an idiotic move this is on the league's part, especially if they
are trying to grow their fan base. How stupid!!! To think that our own team is
not even being watched by well over 30% of the DFW area because they don't
have cable - unbelievable! Money clearly is the deciding factor here and not
the fans!

Ok fellas this what's going to happen tonight.
Dallas will win if Dirk doesn't play. It will take Dirk at least 2-3 games to get back in the flow and Dallas doesn't have the time .Dallas is a dangerous team in a 1 game elimination like tonight which is better then a good team( with Dirk ) and right now I would rather put the dangerous team on the floor who has already proven they can win without him.
Remember what I told you guys last week about Duncan. If the game is close in the 4th qtr he doesn't show up most of the time. What did he do in Game 1 and 5 in the 4th qtr? Nothing… . He played one good 4th quarter and the other two games were blowouts….so if it’s a tight game going in the 4th quarter give me Dallas.

A 36-foot "Go Spurs Go" banner is gone.
Sometime after midnight on Friday, the large sign with San Antonio's
unofficial insignia plastered across it was yanked from the Greater Chamber
of Commerce's outer wall.
And the chamber wants it back, badly.
"While our 'Go Spurs Go' banner has been stolen, our Spurs spirit is alive
and well," Chamber President and CEO Joe Krier said in a news release. "In
addition, we appeal to people who committed this theft and ask that they
return our banner."
Chamber officials said they advise the culprits to "re-examine" any plans to
display the banner because San Antonio police have been notified.
